Another short post just to remember to check out JK Keller’s work frequently for new pieces. The piece above is the Slitscan Type Generator JK Keller developed in 2006 and updated in 2009. This is how the Slitscan Generator works:
JK Keller: “I created an Illustrator script that types a letter (in this case, ‘J’ & ‘K’) using every font installed on a computer. It aligns all the letters and then cuts slices out of each letter based on width. The collections are the results of 18 computers that friends and I tried this on. They range from 97 to 6607 fonts.”
You can also install this script for your illustrator. Check out the Slitscan Type Generator page to find out how.
