Last summer when browsing the web I found the shoot that stylist Chrissie MacDonald styled, called Wonderland Fukasawa (top pic). Being a big fan of Naoto Fukasawa it’s great to see a non-Fukasawa styled photo, however the pieces are so tiny you really miss the actual Fukasawa designed products in the photo. The angles of the pieces and colours are really fun. Maybe Chrissie is inspired by Jacques Tati for her work. Just not sure if the pieces really pop out enough. But who knows what the brief was.
When searching more I found posts of her Mirrored Shapes (above pics), the elevator mirrored shapes. These mirrored and jagged edges are very compelling. The way they are put in the space you really want to go into the image and feel how pointy they are and see your reflection in it.
It looks like elevator crystals growing in the space, in the seams of the space. See below some more of her work.
