Sebastian Brajkovic graduated from the Design Academy in 2006 with the last chair shown here. The first one shown was made for the Carpenters Workshop Gallery in London. Where his work is shown currently from Feb 5 -March 14th.
I especially like the way the pieces are made and connected. Even without the seating and the emphasis of the upholstery print, the Lathe Chairs have a strange way of being connected. Almost like people. Especially the bottom one has it’s legs entangled, which really emphasises again how “human” these chairs are.
For the Salone del Mobile exhibit in 2008 of the Lebesque label, a new Dutch label owned by the furniture store Lebesque in Eindhoven, The Netherlands. Sebastian was asked to do a new piece. His piece for the Lebesque label, called Consangenious Furniture consists of an armchair, a lampshade and a rug, bound together by an exclusive piece of horsehair embroidery.
